Think again about CO2 and the effects .... there is much more of it in the atmosphere today because of the burning of fossil fuels and a lot less of O2 which is necessary for life and (unfortunattely) - combustion.

I agree wholeheartedly with Mike regarding his views on pollution and global warming. Too much attention is being given to CO2 and not enough to the toxins harming our ecosystem. The Global Warming smoke screen is obscuring and draining dollars from far more serious environmental issues that are seriously affecting our health and the health of our planet.

LED lighting is great and I have been experimenting with these myself for about 25 years. I started buying LED flashlights and chandelier bulbs about 6 years ago, and all the lighting in my house id CFL and LED, until more LED bulbs come on the market so I can replace the CFLs. However, these energy saving bulbs reduce POLLUTION (CO2 is not pollution). Pollution kills. CO2 is plant food and does not kill. The hypothesis that we are causing global warming is unproven and highly disputed in the scientific community, yet politicians and other elitists are falsely promting it as proven fact through the media as a justification to drain our wallets further with carbon taxes and kyoto-type schemes which the public blindly accepts due to all the global warming fearmongering.

i recently purchased a led flashlight from a major retailer for about 40 canadian dollars. it is rated at 140 lumens and out performs my 4 d cell mag flashlight sporting a halogen bulb! this thing runs on 3 aaa batteries making it small and light weight. am looking foreward to trying out the household version.
